We’re Thinking About Operators Affected by Hurricane Dorian
Our hearts are with operators in the Bahamas and on the U.S. East Coast whose lives and businesses are impacted by Hurricane Dorian.
As we head into Arival Orlando 2019 in October, we at Arival are particularly mindful of the destruction Hurricane Dorian has caused in the Bahamas and its potential impacts along the East Coast of the United States.
We’re aware how often tours, activities and attractions suppliers are impacted by factors beyond their control, such as weather, and how integral community is during trying times.
We want to remind you that you’re not alone. Many operators in the path of hurricanes and other disasters—whether they be natural or manmade—have experienced similar challenges, and have had to deal with the consequences of destruction, which range from reduced tourists to damaged buildings, buses and boats.
One such operator was Paradise Adventures out of Panama City Beach, Fl., owned by Tracey and Donnie Coker. When they discovered last year that Hurricane Michael upended the two catamarans on which their cruise business relied on, they realized they had a long road of rebuilding their business ahead.
