An acclaimed food and travel writer, she was the food travel expert for About.com and USA Today for four years, and has written for Conde Nast, Barclaycard, USA Today, and others. She is currently writing her first book on Atlanta’s Unexpected Culinary History (Arcadia Publishing, mid-2019). Akila’s superpower is her uncanny ability to always finish dessert.
