North American operators are raising prices as inflation bites into operating costs.
Almost three in five tours, activities and attractions operators have increased the cost of their tickets. One in ten have raised prices by more than 10%.
The price hikes do not appear to have a negative impact on demand. U.S. traveler spend on day tours and activities doubled in 2021, according to Arival’s Today’s Tour Taker report.
One third of operators in Europe and Latin America have increased the price of their tickets, with one quarter in APAC doing the same.

Insurance, Labor Costs Rising
A key driver behind the price hike are rising costs. A majority of U.S. operators cite insurance, labor and equipment as the biggest sources of increased expenses.
Inflation appears to be biting hardest in the U.S. Approximately two in five operators worldwide are reporting increased costs across all these areas of spending.
Arival conducted its fourth Industry Pulse survey of operators between October and December 2021. The survey was offered in five languages: English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish.
Arival received 2,521 qualified responses from operators worldwide.
