About Me
After reconnecting with the outdoors in 2015, Mina Okpi noticed there weren’t many people of color participating in the outdoors. She started Black Outdoor Adventurers, LLC to change this. Now, Mina is an operator and plans experiences with a goal to introduce people of color to outdoor adventure activities and break stereotypes and stigmas inside and outside the BIPOC community. She believes everyone should be able to do things that actually enrich your life. She leads the charge in the NY and Northeast regions and soon farther to help more black and brown people discover the world and their potential one outdoor adventure at a time.
“I believe everyone should be able to enjoy life beyond the concrete jungle and do the things that actually enrich your life”. My goal is to help more people of color discover this world, be open to the power of nature to heal burdens, and to gain perspective on life one outdoor adventure at a time.
