I’ve been a volunteer guide for over three years now from 2019 – I created my bespoke tour called the Health and Wealth tour which encapsulates a number of buildings in my city (York, UK) they either helped create wealth or provided health to the City over the centuries. I share my own experience of being homeless and current ongoing recovery from addiction to offer insights into many challenges people face when accessing systems designed to support them, yet unearth the realities of how society views people facing difficult, complex needs which alienate and hinder people integrating and being welcomed back into society in general free of stigma, judgement and bias.
