About Me
Claire Carlin is Vice President of Partnerships & Alliances at Destination DC, the official convention and tourism corporation for the nation’s capital. By providing connections, visibility, resources, and strategies for businesses engage, the membership has grown more than 10% annually during her tenure to 1,000, plus 30 sponsors and strategic partners.
Concurrently, Claire is the Executive Director of Destination DC’s affiliated charity, the American Experience Foundation (AEF) that enriches the lives of low-income students through inspirational travel experiences and educational opportunities to cultivate the next generation of hospitality industry professionals. AEF serves hundreds of students annually through field trips, internships, workforce development experiences and scholarships. AEF has been recognized by Destinations International, the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA), National Association of Catering Executives (NACE), and Washington, DC Area Concierge Association.
Active in the community, Claire is treasurer of the Rorschach Theatre Board of Directors, was a founding board member of the Capital Fringe Festival, is incoming chair of the Hospitality Industry Advisory Board for DC’s high school career academies, and honored as a German Marshall Fund Memorial Fellow. She is a graduate of the University of Virginia.
