There is always space for improvement when it comes to diversity, equity and inclusion. At Arival 360 San Diego, we set devoted space for discussion, presentation and learnings to help people get started with DEI, or to take it the next step. This week, the conversation continues.

March’s Insider Pro Meetup will be on: Let’s talk DEI: What is it anyway, and why is it good for your business? It will be a moderated discussion about how operators can ensure they are following best practices and how implementing DEI policies can help grow your business. It will be held online at 11am EST / 8am PT on Thursday March 3.

The discussion will be facilitated by Danny Guerrero, founder and principal at CULTURIST, Roni Weiss, executive director at Travel Unity, and Sophia Hyder Hock, chief diversity officer at Destinations International.

“The different thing about this Meetup is that we will have our facilitators share some takeaways from what happened in San Diego,” Jane Tougouma, head of community at Arval said. “It’s not meant to be an educational session, it is meant to be a conversation based on insights from their experience with San Diego.”

While the facilitators will be sharing their learnings from Arival, Insider Pro Meetups are designed to be a conversation between operators. “It is more about what’s working for you, what’s not and kind of having that perspective to share with other,” Tougouma said.

“It’s a community conversation around this important initiative and you’re going to grow your business through this. This is good for business.”

The discussion will help define what DEI is, why it matters to your business, and how DEI can help reach new generations of travelers. Generation Z care a lot about the ethics of their travel and want to ensure that it is inclusive and sustainable.
