Is there really a glass ceiling on women in travel?
While many women have managed to advance to C-level positions, as Arival’s list of women leaders in experiences highlights, and there are many female members of the Arival community who have founded their own tour and activity companies, travel’s gender gap is still very real: the pay equity gap is well-documented and research even shows it got worse during Covid-19.
In the latest episode of Experience This! Travel, which Arival CCO and Co-founder Bruce Rosard co-hosts alongside Lori Timony from Insightful International and Christian Watts from Magpie Travel, three experienced leaders in the tours and attractions space — Judy Gauthier of Go City, Dominique Sidley of Merlin Entertainments and Natalie Hernandez of Xplorie — share their perspectives on this gap and what women and men can and must do to encourage more female leaders in the experiences sector of travel.
