Australian-owned tours and activities booking system ResPax has acquired Livn, also based in Australia, for an undisclosed amount.
Earlier this year, Livn, a well-known channel manager, B2B connectivity platform and Google Things to do connectivity partner, was placed into voluntary administration. “Livn has had a very supportive single investor/owner for quite some time and at short notice, has made the difficult decision not to fund Livn into FY24,” Livn CCO and Founder Steve Martinez shared with Arival.
After a period of uncertainty for Livn’s future, ResPax stepped forward to acquire the company, a deal which was officially announced yesterday.
Arival CCO Bruce Rosard connected with ResPax CEO Tony Bridgewater to get the details.
Why Livn? It’s all About Distribution
“We’ve had a long relationship with the Livn founders and with the Livn team and they’re a great bunch of people, talent and a great platform,” shared Bridgewater, “so we thought it was a great opportunity for ResPax.”
So what does this mean for operators? “Operators are always looking for new markets,” said Bridgewater.
While ResPax is primarily a booking system, the addition of Livn’s channel management and connectivity capabilities means an opportunity for expanded distribution opportunities. “Distribution is key, and Livn has a great distribution network and tools available, improved channel management,” explained Bridgewater.

Res-tech Race for Distribution Dominance? Learn More At Arival!
Interestingly, this announcement comes on the heels of the Checkfront-Rezdy merger announcement and the recent addition of Regiondo to that rollup. With Rezdy also a channel manager, this means two recent transactions combining res-tech and connectivity, which is something new in experiences tech. Will there be a reservation technology (res-tech) race for distribution dominance?
