As the pandemic forced a global travel lockdown this spring, Intrepid Travel, one of the world’s largest operators of multi-day and day-tour brands, had to repatriate more than 3,000 guests and process some 35,000 cancellations. Despite the hardship, the company is as focused as ever on its mission to advance responsible travel.
In this candid interview with the group CEO, we discussed how Intrepid is managing through the crisis, planning for the future, how they expect tours and experiences will change, and how transparent communication helped sway many of their customers to accept a credit to future travel rather than a request a refund.
