If you ever get that “there are too many apps on my phone” feeling about your tour company, you are not alone: too many operators are spending too much time managing too many distribution channels. If this sounds familiar to you, it might be time to look into channel management.
But what is channel management? Do you really need a channel manager? And if so, which one? Channel management refers to the ability to distribute operators’ product availability, rates and inventory across multiple sales channels and receive bookings from connected resellers via a single software connection or service. Our newly released Arival Guide to Channel Management will walk you through exactly what channel management is and how it works, whether it’s right for you, and how to evaluate channel managers for your business.
We reviewed more than two dozen distribution, booking system and channel management providers to develop a matrix of providers, which are listed below. Download the full guide (free to Insider Free and Pro Access Members) here:
Channel Managers for Tours, Activities and Attractions
Arival evaluated several dozen technology and distribution platforms to develop the list below (more details are included with the channel manager matrix in the full guide).
Each of the companies listed below offer a channel management or connectivity service that is independent of their booking or ticketing system — meaning that you can use their channel management service without subscribing to the other services they provide — and is currently being used by tour, activity and attraction providers as such.
In addition to the below, there are many booking systems which provide connectivity to multiple distribution channels and provide channel management services for companies using their booking software. Those companies include bookingkit, Checkfront, FareHarbor, The Flybook, Peek, Regiondo, RocketRez, Xola, Zaui, and several others. There are also several experiences marketplaces and resellers, including Holibob, Servantrip, Broadway Inbound, and OTAs which also offer distribution marketplaces.
