About Me

With a background in private equity, Sean Joy joined Chenmark as a GVP in 2021 looking for a different path in life. Today, he’s traded in his suit and briefcase for shorts and a swashbuckling eyepatch as the CEO of Southern Star and Buccaneer Pirate Cruises in Destin, FL. Prior to joining Chenmark, Sean spent 5 years at Ares Management primarily in the restructuring group working directly with companies in a wide range of industries from consumer products, to pharmaceuticals, to industrial recycling to stabilize cash flow and turn around performance before a sale. Sean holds a B.S. in Finance as well as a B.S. in Economics and an M.S. in Economics all from Lehigh University.
