Your Purpose
The Shore Excursions Coordinator will assist the Shore Excursions Manager in preparing the shore excursions programs for a selected portfolio of ports within Caribbean and North American destinations. He/she will be in close communication with the local tour operators in the different destinations about the shore excursions program of the ports of his/her competence as well as to explore and develop new products in these same ports.
This is a hybrid position requiring 2 days per week in the office, in Miami.
Your Impact
- Setting up new Shore Excursion programs on regular basis, and maintaining existing ones
- Keeping tour descriptions files up to date for all programs
- Ensuring insurance certificates are on file up to date on a weekly basis
- Create web files in dedicated format for all programs.
- Address set up and /or web issues (IE: bugs in system) with web marketing and IT
- Create and maintain for new and existing programs tours bids (costs) in the costing platform.
- Provide assistance to customer service and contact centers with doubts and general inquiries
- Monitor tours inventory and sales, communicate accordingly with tour operators, contact centers and ships
- Communicates with the ships in the Caribbean area regarding reports and tours operations.
- Reviews reports from ships on a weekly basis and follow up with ships and tour operators as needed for corrective actions.
- Travels onboard vessels and by flight for product quality control and site inspections
- Benchmark activities as needed.
- Maintains in-house Shorex price lists and vendor directories up to date
- Assists with special projects
- Additional tasks and duties as assigned by the manager.
Your Journey so far
- Preferred 3 years’ experience in the cruise line industry / tours department.
- Selected candidate must be able to communicate professionally and effectively at all levels (verbal and written) with customers and within the company. Ability to clearly convey information through a variety of media (verbal, written, e-mail, etc.)
- Must be able to work independently and report to the manager as well as work well as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills, highly organized and detailed. Flexibility and ability to multitask.
- Excellent ability to work in a deadline driven environment.
- Must demonstrate excellent phone manner and etiquette and be able to maintain a positive attitude when under pressure.
- Experience using computer software (including Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point).
- Availability to travel onboard the ship and by flight.
- Knowledge of languages other than English (German, French, Spanish, Italian) is a plus.
