Stephanie Lawrence is the co-founder of Traveling Spoon, which provides travelers with private, authentic food experiences, from homemade meals to cooking classes, in people’s homes around the world. The Traveling Spoon business model not only provides travelers with unique, meaningful experiences, but also provides income to locals and supports local economies. The company has been featured in the New York Times, Travel+Leisure, National Geographic Traveler and was recognized by Forbes as the ‘future of culinary tourism’. The company is backed by lead investor Erik Blachford, former CEO of Expedia, and currently operates in 150 cities across 50 countries around the world. Prior to founding Traveling Spoon, Stephanie worked with Alice Waters and the Chez Panisse Foundation and at Google.org and has a background in international development. Stephanie received her MBA with honors from UC Berkeley Haas School of Business and graduated cum laude from Dartmouth College. She is passionate about creating meaningful travel experiences and allowing travelers to experience culture through food.
