About Me

Dermot Halpin was most recently responsible for both the Experiences and the Vacation Rentals divisions at TripAdvisor. This included the management of all aspects of Tripadvisor Experiences, Bokun, Viator, FlipKey, Holiday Lettings, Niumba, Vacation Home Rentals and Housetrip. Dermot is also a board member of Ding.com, a high growth Dublin-based international fintech business which allows people to instantly transfer small values of airtime.
Before joining TripAdvisor, Dermot was CEO of Autoquake, an Accel/Highland venture-backed consumer internet business focused on retailing automobiles, and a board member/advisor to several European venture-backed consumer internet businesses and funds.
Prior to that, Dermot held the position of President of Expedia EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa). Throughout his tenure at Expedia, Dermot oversaw the expansion of the Expedia branded business, the Hotels.com business, and the Expedia Affiliate Network in the EMEA region. Dermot was also on the board of both Voyages SNCF, a joint venture with the French national rail operator and e-Long, a publicly-held Chinese online travel business. Before joining Expedia, Dermot worked at several technology-driven businesses, including Tele2, a European telecoms operator. Dermot holds an MBA from INSEAD and studied engineering at University College Dublin, Ireland.
