About Me

Alex Jacobs, bilingual in German & English, moved to the UK from Germany in 2004, studied business, tourism, and urban regeneration at Newcastle, and set about building a tourism business thereon. He later trained as a professional (Blue Badge) tourist guide before starting his inbound tour business Northern Secrets Ltd in 2010. Since then, his company has welcomed several thousand visitors to Northern England.

Alex has expanded his portfolio by launching Experience North Ltd with business partner and friend Paul, specializing in destination management for Northern England (with a focus on cruise, incentives, custom arrangements as white label partner to DMCs & operators across the world. COVID-19 has led Experience North to accelerate their progress into the consumer market for private tours with their two consumer brands Liverpool Tour Company & Newcastle Tour Company. Most recently, Experience North has taken on the hop-on-hop-off walking tour franchise with Vox City Walks in Liverpool (due to begin in July 2021).

A major part of this is the implementation of self-guided walks across the city. Additionally, Alex leads a consulting business (Hoop Tourism) focusing on sales-driven web design & strategies for small to medium-sized tour companies going through a similar process as Experience North has in 2020.

This Conference Code of Conduct shares our community expectations and applies to all attendees, employees, exhibitors, speakers, sponsors, volunteers, and other participants at Arival- produced and sponsored events. Severe breaches of this Conference Code of Conduct may result in disqualification from participating in future events. Individuals expelled due to violating this Conference Code of Conduct will not be eligible for a refund or other consolation.
