Tree to Tree Adventures Course Guide

Summary: Provides supervision, guidance, and assistance to individuals and groups of people as they participate on the Tree to Tree Adventures course by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, others may be assigned.

  • Provides Exceptional customer service to all participants along the Tree to Tree Adventures Course as well as other museum guests
  • Ensure all course operations are conducted in accordance with Tree to Tree Adventures and Museum safety standards. May be asked to complete an inspection of all course components and all course gear on a regular basis
  • Fits harness and safety equipment correctly and supervises the use of all personal protective equipment
  • Conducts participant orientation sessions and pre-screening. Create an enriching experience for all participants.
  • May be required to provide rescue and/or emergency response to Tree to Tree participants if needed.
  • Assumes responsibility for the safety of groups.

Requirements

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add and subtract 2 digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Florida Driver’s License and Safe Driving Record

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Must be able to speak effectively to different ages and in front of small to large groups. Must be able to communicate effectively as a team member

Must be comfortable, able, and/or willing to learn to operate at heights and perform all rescue and assist functions associated with the course. Must be able to lift at least 50lbs (more may/will be required as client weight varies)

Ability to work long hours and irregular shifts, Including weekends and holidays.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, dexterous use of hands for tools and controls, reach with hands and arms, climb, crawl, balance, and talk and hear.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs, frequently lift and/or move 25 lbs, and occasionally move 10lbs. Must be comfortable assisting people from high and precarious situations, and lifting from unstable ground. Specific vision abilities rq, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in high, precarious places and in outside weather conditions. The employee is exposed to humid and sometimes wet/rainy conditions, fumes, airborne particles, allergens, and chemicals.

Noise level is moderate.
