Tour Guide|Part-time| PPG Paints Arena

Overview

PPG Paints Arena is seeking candidates for the Tour Guide position. Primary duties will include giving guided tours of PPG Paints Arena home of the Pittsburgh Penguins, working with groups of all ages, assisting with guests entering each facility including check-in, and providing top-notch customer service.

This role will pay an hourly wage of $15.56

This position will remain open until June 6, 2025.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guided tours of PPG Paints Arena
  • Memorize scripts, facts and stories pertinent to the history of the franchise and facility
  • Relate in a professional, age-appropriate way to children
  • Be comfortable working with a specific schedule while standing/walking frequently
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma/GED (experience in lieu of diploma/GED may be considered)
  • Experience with public speaking and experience working with children

Skills/Aptitudes

  • Good communication and presentation skills (verbal and written)
  • Be a fan of the Penguins and hockey, along with a good understanding of the game and history
  • Be able to memorize specific facts and communicate professionally to all age groups
  • Professional presentation, appearance, and work ethi
  • Ability to work under limited supervision and to interact with all levels of staff including management
  • Must be available to work flexible hours, which will include evenings, weekends, and holidays

Computer Skills

In order to perform this job successfully, an individual should understand how to use a computer.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand on feet and walk comfortably for long periods of time

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to work both indoors and outdoors as required by the function. Must have the physical ability to maneuver around facility, at times, walking and/or standing up to 4-8 hours daily. Ability to communicate via two-way radio.
