Summer Park Interpreter

If you answered YES to these questions, then being an Interpreter in Manning Park is for you!
Job Requirements:The successful applicants will create and deliver a variety of interpretive programs, including guided walks, activity programs, touch tables, special events, and evening amphitheatre programs.Successful applicants will have a high degree of knowledge and understanding of the flora and fauna found in E.C. Manning Provincial Park. They will be self-motivated, responsible, and possess a valid driver’s licence.
They will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience working with children or teaching. Experience with art, music and/or drama is beneficial. Applicants must be reasonably fit and able to lift 80 pounds. Preference is given to applicants who are members of Interpretation Canada.Partial funding for the program may be through the Federal Summer Student grants.
Current students who are planning to return to school in the fall are encouraged to apply, but all applicants are welcome.
Accommodations:Rent-free housing is available in the Manning Park Resort staff housing community for a reasonable utilities fee of $150 bi-weekly. Other options may be available in the nearby communities of Eastgate, Sunshine Valley or Hope.Wages:Wages will be between $19 – $21 per hour depending on experience and funding. The position will involve 40 hours of work per week, much of which will take place evenings and weekends.
