Position Overview

The Shuttle Driver is responsible for providing safe and efficient transportation services while ensuring an exceptional guest experience. This role includes morning routine tasks, pre-trip inspections, communication, guest services, and assisting with operations on the Secret Island. The Shuttle Driver plays a crucial part in maintaining operational efficiency and supporting various activities on the island, including landscaping, customer engagement, and providing guided tours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Bus Pre-Trip Inspections: Conduct thorough bus inspections to ensure safety, report any issues to management, and complete pre-checks on all buses, including those for “Island Task” times.
  • Bus Schedule: Adhere to assigned ‘A’ or ‘B’ driver schedules, adjusting as needed for operational demands, while collaborating with other drivers to ensure smooth service and passenger safety.
  • Guest Services: Welcome guests during check-in, use a clicker counter to track boarding, assist with boarding, accurately log passenger counts, and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Radio/Communication: Carry and monitor handheld radios to maintain communication, especially with the boat driver when transporting guests to Secret Island.
  • Post-Trip: Perform post-trip inspections, report any issues, check tire pressure, refuel, and clean the bus interior and exterior daily.
  • Island Tasks: Transport and refill gas cans, organize life vests, assist guests, interact with island visitors for feedback, and handle miscellaneous tasks.
  • Secret Island Beach Attendant Duties: Brief visitors, serve as a tour guide, lead pond tours, act as a steersman, and ensure compliance with safety regulations, including sanitizing life vests.
  • Guest Engagement: Interact with island guests, facilitate feedback through surveys, and enhance their experience.
  • Landscaping and Additional Duties: Perform light landscaping tasks and assist with morning setup and evening breakdowns.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
  • Ability to conduct safety inspections and report issues promptly.
  • Experience in operating large vehicles and interacting with guests.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to participate in physically demanding tasks, including loading/unloading equipment and conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
