Summary: The Programming & Visitor Engagement Coordinator is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the Education & Visitor Engagement division, assisting in the planning and production of the Museum’s Live Music & Public Programs, and serving as a member of the Manager-on-Duty team for frontline operations. They exemplify the Rock Hall’s Fans First philosophy, have a deep knowledge of rock & roll history, are comfortable speaking in front of crowds, engaging with VIPs and musicians, and sharing their love of rock & roll with music fans from around the world.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Coordinates logistical aspects for all public programs, live music concerts, community programs, education programs & other related events.
- Coordinates programming pre-production, including but not limited to communication with artist management and community partners, travel & itineraries, payments & performance agreements, and scheduling & space reservations.
- Coordinates with internal departments (artist relations, curatorial, marketing, development, security, AV/production, fan engagement) to effectively plan and prepare for large scale events.
- Gathers assets and builds webpages on rockhall.com using Content Management System.
- On-site during events, serves as liaison to artists & community organizations, acts as assistant show runner/production assistant, and helps execute event details.
- Trained to work as assistant producer for Rock Hall virtual events on various platforms including Streamyard, Zoom, etc.
- Serves as a Rock Hall media/PR spokesperson, program host, and VIP tour guide as needed.
Trained to serve as Manager-on-Duty for Fan Engagement team during peak times and major events.
- Leads morning Sound Check meeting with onstage staff, relaying daily operation information & key internal messaging; calls rotation and oversees radio communication.
- Serves as key point person for escalated guest questions, service recovery, and other supervisory tasks as needed.
- Alongside existing Manager-on-Duty team acts as a role model for Fan Engagement Staff; conducts coaching assessments to improve quality service.
- Submits daily End of Day report to fellow MODs and division leadership.
- Fills in onstage when needed, particularly during peak times or major events.
Assists in the day-to-day operations of the Education and Visitor Engagement Division.
- Maintains divisional calendar and coordinates intra- and inter-departmental work.
- Schedules meetings, creates and distributes agendas & minutes, takes notes, and coordinates meeting follow-up as needed.
- Serves as a key point person for division-wide communications including emails, phone calls, messaging, and virtual meetings.
- Assists the VP and division Directors with operational tasks, external partner relations, committee meeting logistics, and other related activities.
Duties include but may not be limited to the above.
JOB REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
Education Level:
- College undergraduate degree is required. Ability to read and demonstrate basic oral, written, mathematical and manual skills. Ability to communicate in standard English.
Experience in Field:
Bachelor’s degree in field related to the Museum’s mission is required (music, education, museum studies, arts management). One (1) to two (2) years professional administrative experience preferred.
Work Schedule:
Ability to work at least 40 hours per week; any shift as assigned, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Ability to work rotating shifts and on short notice. Ability to be reachable to respond to clients’ needs and requests. Ability to work additional hours as business needs demand.

- Possess a passion for customer service and rock and roll, and an ability to get along with people.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to deal effectively with staff members, volunteers, Museum members, donors, and visitors.

- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability as a performing musician is preferred.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.

- A professional and resourceful style; willingness to take initiative, manage multiple tasks and projects at a time; and willingness to learn.
- Ability to successfully pass a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame reference check, background investigation and drug screening.
- Computer Literate: Office 365, Adobe suite preferred
- Current with latest digital and IT best practices
- Bi-lingual capabilities preferred, but not necessary
- Strong public speaking skills preferred

Benefits and Compensation
The annual salary range for this position is $40,000 – $47,000, commensurate with experience and certifications.
