About the role:
The Regional Marketing Manager will support the planning, organization and direction of the activities of the Marketing functions in support of overall company strategies and objectives, as established by the executive team.
*This is a hybrid office role located in Toronto, Canada
What you’ll be doing:
- Responsible for building & executing Canada’s consumer and trade campaigns to increase sales within the channels.
- Working with key agency partners to grow overall sales.
- Working alongside the Canadian MD to cultivate new consumers, partners and other brand relationships to grow consumer sales.
- Working alongside Global Marketing, Marketing & Customer Experience, oversee the positioning and product marketing of the G Adventures portfolio of brands based on Travel Style.
- Work closely with the Canadian team and the Customer Experience & Advocacy team to understand customer personas, associated customer journeys, consumer satisfaction trends and opportunities for improvement
- Collaborate with your team as well as other Marketing verticals and departments to develop short- and long-term strategies and integrated marketing plans designed to deliver the optimized product mix – with an eye not only on Travel Styles but also, importantly, on destinations. Working closely with your team, Marketing Intelligence, CRM and other verticals to leverage customer data and segmentation profiles and assess industry trends, determine the right brand (Travel Style), target segment, destination, channel and content strategies required to achieve our sales goals. It’s about delivering the right message to the right audience at the right place at the right time
- Design and implement multi-channel marketing campaigns such as direct mail drops, social campaigns & monthly/annual promotional launches.
- Collaborate with PR Manager & Social Media teams to drive positive brand awareness among key partners, consumer publications and online social channels.
- Provide ongoing commercial management, monitoring, reporting and recommendations to the Canadian team in support of the marketing strategy, and ensure execution of the same on a timely basis.
- Oversee online and offline advertising strategy to increase database leads and sales for the consumer channel.
- Identify and manage additional marketing opportunities to grow brand awareness, such as consumer events & partnership roadshows.
- Monitor and analyze direct sales/campaign performance (including post-mortem campaign recaps) to identify areas for improvement and the need to adjust strategies to meet/exceed goals.
- Review weekly and monthly reports pertaining to all consumer sales, promotions and campaigns and manage distribution where necessary.
- Lead and implement customer engagement and community campaigns such as in-person/virtual events, subscription growth campaigns on-boarding & ongoing nurture stream campaigns among our US Lifecycle Segments to lift engagement.
- Being personable and outgoing; acting as the voice of the customer to help achieve goals, drive conversions and improve customer experience and engagement among the direct community.
Desired Skills and Experience:
Must Have:
- 3+ years of demonstrated experience in marketing leadership and/or product marketing on either the client or agency side, working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment. Experience within a global company is an asset.
- 1+ years’ experience managing a team, with a proven record of motivating, inspiring and getting the best of your people.
- Knowledge of and experience in the adventure travel or tourism industry is an asset
- Hands-on experience in B2B and B2C marketing.
- A strong critical thinker who has the ability to communicate plans and write clear creative briefs that are grounded in consumer insights.
- Possesses extensive planning experience and budgeting skills and comfortable developing forecasts, analyzing sales trends and reporting on ROI.
- Has a strong problem-solving skillset, along with advanced project management skills.
- Possesses strong organization and communication skills and demonstrates strong initiative.
- Possesses excellent communication and influencing skills, combined with strong oral and presentation skills.
- Is both collaborative and proficient at building positive working relationships with multidisciplinary stakeholders across the business.
- Able to work in a team setting, as well as independently, within a fast paced and ever-changing environment, while juggling multiple projects and tasks at the same time.
- Demonstrates the ability to critique and/or discuss the work of others in a constructive manner
- Comfortable running and requesting reports, reviewing trends and communicating sales and consumer insights.
- Must be able to travel nationally or internationally from time to time.
- Fluent in English.
- Possesses strong computer/technology skills and is highly proficient in Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Keynote
- Knowledge of PM software tools Workfront and Trello is an asset
Nice to Have:
- Bachelor’s or College degree in business, marketing, travel and tourism, or a related field.
- Proficiency in French is an asset
