Now Hiring: Part Time Historical Interpreter
Schedule: Combination of weekday, weekends and some holidays
Location: Greater Nashville, TN area
Compensation: $15.00 per hour

As a Historical Tour Guide at the Andrew Jackson Foundation, you will welcome guests and lead engaging guided tours of our historic property. Your role will involve providing insightful historical interpretation, ensuring an educational and memorable experience for all visitors.
What you will be doing:
- Provide guided historical tours for a wide range of visitors
- Assist physically challenged and non-English speaking visitors
- Provide physical security for the mansion and assist visitors in emergency situations
- Answer visitor questions relating to Andrew Jackson’s life and legacy, family and properties, and the enslaved African Americans that worked at the site
- Participate in the training programs for historical interpreters
- Comply with established dress and grooming requirements
- Provide reports as requested
What you will need:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Interest in history
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Courtesy and tact in dealing with the public
- Ability to interact with all ages, nationalities, and those who are physically challenged
- Professional demeanor
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to stand for long periods of time; climb stairs; work outside and in un-air-conditioned buildings
