Senior Water Park Manager
The Senior Water Park Manager leads the Water Park, grounds and admissions areas of the Water Park and Resort pools associated with LEGOLAND Florida Resort! Establish and maintain standard process in all aspects of safety, training and operation within the department and striving to deliver guest excellence in line with the Resorts strategy.
As a Senior Leader within the Resort you will be required to undertake Water Park Incident Manager and Park Duty roles as well.
Ensure safe operation of the Water Park, attractions, resort pools and any second gate water activities.
Coordinate the hiring and training of Supervisors, Leads and Lifeguards according to the current certification requirements and Merlin Safety policy as well as other impacted areas of the operation.
Ensure that Guest Excellence Goals are met in line with Resort objectives
Develop Water Park Team and Leads/Supervisor for professional growth.
Create and develop an engagement plan to reduce turnover and enhance the working environment for all.
Contribute knowledge of attractions, quality installation, slide safety, and Guest Service to ensure smooth operation of attractions, slides, pools, and playscapes.
Ensure in-service training is completed to a minimum safety standard as set out by the current certification provider and Merlin Safety policy. Confirm that the relevant people receive their required number of audits and develops action plans on continual improvement.
Maintain knowledge on changes in local, state, and federal standards regarding safety & health issues, pool cleanliness, and drain covers protocols
To maintain compliance with all safety alerts, audits, and competencies.
Handle costs and OPEX with targeted budgets.
Accountable for the leadership of the entire water park operations staff: including training and development, appropriate mentoring and counselling practices, and recruiting/employee reviews.
Supports monthly safety walks.
Health & Safety:
Employees are responsible for the safety of themselves, their colleagues and guests (where appropriate), in line with the Group Policy (HS001) and the law. In particular, they must ensure that they follow safe working procedures for all work activities that they undertake, and they must not use any tools or equipment for which they have not been trained. Where incidents do occur, they must ensure that they are reported to their line manager and must work with any investigation as appropriate.
Managers/supervisors are responsible for all aspects of Health, Safety & Security within their team, in line with the Group Policy (HS001). In particular, they must ensure that risk assessments have been carried out, that safe working procedures are in place for all work activities and that all employees in their teams are aware of the Group Health, Safety and Security Policy and their obligations under it. They must ensure that safe working practices are monitored, and that risk assessments and procedures are reviewed regularly. Where incidents do occur, they must ensure that they are investigated appropriately and that where necessary, corrective action is taken to ensure that such incidents are not repeated.
Background and Experience:
6+ years supervisory experience in attractions or leisure industry. Preferably in pools, slides, and lifeguards in a theme park or related industry.
Demonstrated leadership experience and effective verbal and written communication skills required.
Strong mechanical proficiency and ability to ensure plans, specifications, safety, and quality standards are met.
Strong guest service, interpersonal and supervisory skills are required.
Experience in ensuring guest and employee safety through procedures, programs, and instilling a safety culture.
Knowledge of budgeting and scheduling.
Must be willing to obtain American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor (LGI) Certification or above.
Relevant training and certification within the Water Park industry are preferred to be up to date. A Certified Instructor would be preferred but not necessary. A minimum of a high school Diploma required and at least 4 years in an operational supervisory role or above.
Various inside and outside locations with varying temperatures and floor surfaces.
Includes working outdoors in 95-degree heat (or higher), high humidity, rain, and other inclement weather.
