Manager, Theme Park Ride Maintenance (Full-Time)

Circuit of The Americas (COTA) is a 365-entertainment destination for world-class events located in Austin, TX. The sports and entertainment portfolio at COTA is unmatched in the country with Formula 1 US Grand Prix, NASCAR and MotoGP attracting global fans during championship races on the famed Circuit and Live Nation producing over 30 headline concerts every year at the Germania Insurance Amphitheater.

Job Description:

Responsible for overseeing the repair, maintenance, and inspection of all amusement rides and attractions and developing and coaching staff to improve performance and efficiency at all levels.


Requirements & Essential Functions:

  • Oversee and ensure the success of the day-to-day operations of the Maintenance Department.
  • Schedule, prioritize, and oversee the progress of projects.
  • Oversee the work order process, including placing vendor bids for materials, selecting vendors, and preparing RFQs.
  • Follow, enforce, and document all State of Texas and Travis County Health maintenance and water quality requirements.
  • Lead strategic initiatives for downtime reduction and improved operational readiness of rides.
  • Perform frequent daily site inspections of ongoing work and for any needed repairs.
  • Budgeting and maintaining department operating expenses, capital expenditures, and labor to include accurate monthly financial forecasting and annual budgeting.
  • Assist with capital projects as assigned.
  • Comply with and ensure maintenance operating procedures as outlined in the manufacturer manual.
  • Lead and develop the maintenance team in the areas of leadership, cooperation, policy enforcement, safety, and communication.
  • Maintain OSHA safety standards and all Park and Company policies and procedures.
  • Keep all records and documentation updated daily, accessible, and organized.
  • All other duties assigned.
  • This is an onsite position.

Required Qualifications:

  • Four (4) years of experience in a related field with management experience.
  • High school diploma or its equivalent, bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook knowledge.
  • A working knowledge of OSHA and other regulatory agencies’ rules and regulations.
  • Must possess strong leadership and motivational skills with attention to detail.
  • Flexible scheduling including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • 18 years of age or older.

Physical Demand & Work Environments:

  • Ability to perform all job duties including accessing all areas of the park.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Capability of bending, squatting, kneeling, working in confined spaces, and working at heights 100′ and above.
  • Ability to stand, sit, and use hands to handle, feel, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Ability to squat, bend, twist, push/pull.
  • Ability to stand/walk for long periods.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
  • Work in extreme environments outdoors throughout the year.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud during events.
