Premier Travel Media is a respected publisher of magazines, websites and e-newsletters that serve and support the global travel industry. Our brands cover the student travel, family travel, sports events, leisure group travel, international inbound and on-location film production markets. With wide range of customers and clients, we are looking for a managing editor with experience in editorial production, content marketing and social media. This is an ideal opportunity for a creative, organized self-starter who is passionate about travel.
As a Managing Editor at Premier Travel Media, you will be responsible for the daily operations of specific brands and custom publishing projects. You will develop editorial calendars, write feature stories, hire freelancers and interns, and oversee editorial and production staff to ensure the quality of the product and that deadlines are met. The position is based out of our suburban Chicagoland office, with some consideration for remote hiring.
Responsible for editorial production of travel magazines, website content, email newsletters and social channels across multiple travel brands.
Generate story ideas, develop content calendars and assign stories.
Write feature articles, whitepapers and interview experts from various facets of the industry.
Maintain quality control over brand’s content strategy across channels.
Liaise with other departments to ensure smooth operation of the publishing process.
Contribute to overall strategy and direction of the brands.
3+ years of relevant experience required, magazine production, content development, newsletter and social media management.
Exceptional writing/editing/proofreading skills and keen attention to detail.
Deadline-focused with ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Working knowledge of WordPress, Mailchimp, Airtable, Microsoft Suite, Google Docs and key social media platforms.
