Expedition Leader
- Lead guests and crew members into new, uncharted territories safely
- Manage all onboard programs and off-vessel activities
- Provide consistent leadership and supervision for all on the expedition team
- Delegate tasks to lead various expeditions (including: zodiac, kayak and hiking trips, as well as presentations) based on the strengths of the team members
- Oversee the daily plan execution including, but not limited to, timely departures, safe arrivals and landings, informative excursions/landings, professional and educational interpretation in the field, gear maintenance, onboard presentations and behind the scenes program tasks
- Ensure constant informative communication throughout various expeditions to both the team members and guests
- Provide inspiration and encouragement to both crew and guests when out on the water and in the field
- Constantly review, identify, and assess risks and raise concerns while on expeditions
- Train, schedule, and coach Naturalist Guides to provide in-depth knowledge of the territory, environment, and culture of Alaska
- Engage with the bridge watch in itinerary management as well as the Hotel Director for dining rotational schedules
- Communicate closely with both vessel management and expedition team to ensure safety
- Welcome new expedition team members and help them acclimate to their new team and their roles/responsibilities
- Deliver coaching and/or disciplinary action to team members as deemed needed
- Manage and coordinate all Company and program safety policies and procedures
- Coordinate various safety briefings at the beginning of each voyage prior to expeditions—Including, zodiac and kayak safety briefings
- Lead daily guest briefings and deliver any necessary itinerary and program changes to guests
- Document and report any zodiac incidents in a timely manner to the appropriate members of management, human resources, and corporate office staff
- Manage all onboard administrative tasks and paperwork
- Act as liaison between crew, guests, agents, corporate office, etc. to address any needs or areas of concern
- Consistently learn and research navigable territories in the area of operation to gain knowledge and understanding of the waters, environment, culture and risks
- Problem-solve quickly when necessary to ensure safety and positive experiences
- Be always an AQ Voyages Brand Ambassador
- Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance among guests and crew at all times
- Abide by all Company policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Follow company values in responding to others in work situations

Requirements & QualificationsEducation:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality, Project Management, or related required.
- Project Management certification desirable

- Adept computer literacy in conjunction with strong administrative skills
- Communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing
- Ability to use independent judgment and discretion to develop and execute innovative solutions to operational problems
- Possess and demonstrate superior judgment, analytical ability, and performance under pressure
- Logically and independently plan, organize, and complete work assignments

- Working knowledge of key maritime policy issues
- Working understanding of pertinent regulations and laws under which the Company operates
Experience
- At least 5-7 years of experience in similar role
- Previous work experience with MXP
- Previous work experience with Smartsheet
- Travel/tourism, hospitality and/or cruise industry experience strongly preferred
Other
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Additional requirements may be required depending on the physical needs of the role
