Human Resources Compliance Investigator – NYC Ferry – City Experiences – Brooklyn

City Experiences is seeking a HR Compliance Investigator for our operation in Brooklyn.

About the Opportunity:
The HR Compliance Investigator helps the HR team ensure fair and respectful treatment of employees, consistent with our core business values and ensure inquiries and investigations are managed appropriately and in a timely manner
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conducts impartial investigations of complaints of employee misconduct, including for example, complaints based on violation of regulations and policies, such as allegations of discrimination and harassment based on protected class status, retaliation, and workplace violence
- Analyzes allegations of the complaint and research applicable regulations and policies associated with those complaints to identify the appropriate violation(s) to investigate.
- Develops an investigation plan and research background information related to the complainant, respondent, witnesses, and other related parties. Provides notifications of the investigation to appropriate parties, including respondent, and VP of HR.
- Documents the findings of the investigation process by preparing an investigation report for formal investigations.
- Assists with recruiting, implementing policies and procedures.
- Assists HR team with day-to-day functions when there are no claims to investigate.
- Partner in analysis and revision of people programs, policies, and practices to sustain a positive work environment.
- Additional Job duties as assigned.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or relevant equivalent experience preferred
- At least 3 years Human Resources employee complaint investigation experience.
- Ability to embody THE RESPECT SERVICE SYSTEM
- Ability to listen, collaborate, and problem solve effectively and in a timely manner
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Understanding of relevant laws and compliance standards
- Familiar with Continuous Improvement methodologies preferred
- Computer skills and a base knowledge of:
- Microsoft Office products and web-based applications
- Skype, Zoom, and other online meeting platforms
- Applicant tracking systems and external job boards
