Retail Merchandise General Manager – Museum of Pop Culture, Seattle Washington – Aramark – Seattle
Job Description
We are currently seeking a Retail Merchandise General Manager, Museum of Pop Culture, to oversee retail operations.
- Partner with the District Manager to plan and execute business development strategy for growth
- Manage the client relationship at the location, while providing hands on execution management of operations.
- Responsible for many of the non-selling aspects of the retail operation that includes the following: inventory management, warehouse management, receiving, and distribution.
Job Responsibilities
- Supervise the management of labor and mentoring of selling associates.
- Work with District Manager and Talent Acquisition to hire staff, ensure proper staffing for events, and managing a labor budget.
- Ensure development and training of customer service programs and product knowledge.
- Training on point-of-sale registers and inventory scanners. Supervise daily store operations
- Ensure proper procedures for opening and closing the store, including accountability of cash and credit cards, and security requirements
- Verify accountability report of financial transactions, to include sales and transfers of merchandise to and from the stores.
- Periodically check and verify the proper ticketing of merchandise.
- Supervise periodic physical inventories as well as potential count discrepancies.
- Developing new concepts to increase existing revenue sources for retail products.
- Regularly partner with licensors and licensees to develop exclusive exhibit related merchandise
- Maintain general standards for display, merchandising, and cleanliness.
- Provide technical assistance for minor hardware problems with point-of-sale devices.
- Basic review and analysis of store merchandise
- Maintain proper placement of merchandise throughout the store.
- Manage stock levels
- Projecting and maintaining financial workbooks on a weekly basis.
- Reporting Daily sales information to the accounting department.
- Product Buying
- Reconcile consigned events

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required.
- Minimum of 10 year’s relevant experience is required.
- The ability to manage in a diverse environment with focus on client and customer services, entrepreneurship and building and growing a strong business is essential to success in this role.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, senior management and Aramark support staff.
- Ability to respond effectively to changing demands. P&L accountability and/or contract-managed service experience is desirable.
- Candidate must be willing to be hands on with staff and operations and be willing to work event-based hours that include evenings and weekends.
