Job Summary
Brown County is seeking an energetic individual to join our team as a Guide Supervisor at the Adventure Park located at the NEW Zoo in Suamico, WI. This position involves overseeing daily operations and maintenance of the Adventure Park, which includes an aerial challenge course, dual racing 1,000-foot zip-lines, a 32-foot-high climbing wall, a kids’ course, equipment rentals, and the Neil Anderson Canopy Tour. The Guide Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that visitors receive a top-tier recreational and educational experience from start to finish. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing and evolving adventure park industry.

  1. Ensures safe overall operations of the Adventure Park and program facilitation.
  2. Performs point of sale operations in compliance with county cash handling policies.
  3. Supervises and guides Adventure Park staff and concession employees.
  4. Assists with the inspection and maintenance of adventure courses and equipment.
  5. Facilitates group education programs that focus on experiential learning.
  6. Coordinates the daily operations of the equipment rental program.

Essential Duties

  1. Ensures a safe and enjoyable adventure for visitors, prioritizing safety at all times.
  2. Maintains positive, professional working relationships with both co-workers and visitors.
  3. Assists in setting up and taking down course and equipment.
  4. Assists with admissions and concession services.
  5. Contributes to grounds maintenance as needed.
  6. Maintains necessary records as required by your supervisor.
  7. Leads the equipment rental program operations.
  8. Assists in the daily operations of the canopy tour.
  9. Assists with inspections and documentations of ziplines, aerial challenge courses, the kids’ course, the climbing wall, and the aerial canopy tour.
  10. Develops and implements programming for both the Adventure Park and the aerial canopy tour.
  11. Provides leadership and supervision in the absence of the Adventure Park Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications Required

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Outdoor Education, Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred
Must be 18 years or older
Experience in group program planning and facilitation preferred
Able to complete required training and receive Level 1 Site Specific Certification sponsored by Brown County. Our park follows all ACCT training and safety policies.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  1. Comfortable working in diverse outdoor conditions
  2. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  3. Able to wear a full-body harness and work in an active environment

HOURS:

  1. Guide Supervisor should expect to work many varied shifts as needed including nights, holidays and weekends
  2. The Adventure Park is open daily 9am – 6pm during the operating season

  1. Energetic and exceptional attitude
  2. Comfortable operating point of sale system and cash handling
  3. Ability to be active for an entire 8+ hour shift
  4. Ability to learn and apply advanced technical skills
  5. Act professionally
